Does DVDTalk have any 'Professional Posters'??

so i run a forum myself, and i just got this piece of spam that i found very interesting:

Subject: How to maintain loyalty to your online community

Attn: System Admin, Community Manager

Would you like to have professional, well informed and topic stimulating members in your forum at unbeatable prices? Our highly experienced and diversified team of experts allows us to provide you with members who will join, interact and have a genuine interest in any topics being discussed. Not only do you benefit from enhanced interest in your boards, but also the promotion of stimulating discussions. As you are aware, a new community takes time to grow. I would think not considering that one of the "jobs" of a professional poster is probably to post spam and ads for stuff which isn't tolerated here. Well, not from the posters anyway.

i don't think it is though.. it sounds like their job is to just 'fit in' and act like someone who is genuinely interested in the subject matter of the forum..

that's what i got out of it anyways..

That's pretty funny.

I thought from the title you meant someone that spent all day on here. That would make a few here "professionals"

Would posting a copy of the movie poster for The Professional be too dumb of a joke?

I have been a "party fluffer", which is what this seems to be an online version of. The idea is to prevent that major social disaster, the "dead dinner party". The fluffer's job is to get people talking to each other, and break any ice that forms.

It really does help to have a fluffer when you are inviting a bunch of people who don't know each other. Usually the host does the fluffing, but let's face it, not everyone who hosts a party has a clue of how to keep it sparkling.

If a FORUM needs fluffing, though.... well, it's just a dud. (I wonder if there is a party-fluffers forum out there?)

oh, I wouldn't be surprised if the "company" is just a couple of people who use a lot of different identities.
