Assembling gifts isn't fun! (Or how I spent a Friday evening.)

It's over five hours after I started, and I just got done putting together my boys large gifts, one apiece. I absolutely loathe that crap. Why can't things come fully put together? Or are there actually people who enjoy this torture? I am alone is this disdain for a Christmas tradition? Hopefully, I got things right, and can now enjoy what little I have left of my evening.

So what was the gift? A bike? Hard for us to know if it can come assembled if we don't know what it is.

I'm guessing it is due to packaging. A fully assembled bike would take 2-3x the box size and in stores, bigger boxes=less shelf space for other stock. Smaller boxes=more items that can be stored=more sales.

A gas scooter for one, and a decent drum set for the other. That was the real pain in the ass. At least for me.

If you think the drum set was a pain to assemble... just wait till they play it

At least you planned ahead and didn't start it Xmas Eve.

Have a "some assembly required" Christmas, every father's nightmare.

Come on -- let's see 'em so we can tell how well you put 'em together.

This is the best you get:

Seriously, that was my guide and directions, as nothing came with the set. I don't suppose I could be that far off though.

I figure it's all about the quality of the beer, not how hard it is to assemble. If you have good beer, things go together much easier. Sometimes you find something more fun, too!!
