My affair with SIngapore (pics)

I've visited Singapore three times this year. Some for errands (and a few shopping), but last week I went there for shopping and sightseeing. During the three visits, I always have my camera with me. Here's a few of the pics I took:

A view from Orchard Road

Raffles Place's Shopping Centre jumping fountain

Clarke Quay. The white crane in the right is a G-Max sling shot ride.

A building in Maxwell Street. I forgot what the building name is, but they write about it in the paper because of the new red paint.

A shop with its fancy exterior

Maybank tower in a gloomy day.

Singapore is the city of crow.

A corner near the parliament building.

Esplanade Theatre on the bay. Singaporeans also calls it "the durian."

The state capitol's dome.

A 9-pound cannon at Fort Canning.

A couple of cupola in Fort Canning Centre.

A view of Fort Canning Centre from the cupola.

Another shot of the cupolas.

Singapore Presbyterian Church at dusk.

So how is traveling there if you have never been there before and do not know the language. I'm thinking of taking this trip next year: Linky

from Singapore to Bangkok.
Cool Pics thanks!

Fortunately most of them talk Singlish quite fluently. It's a little bit hard to understand Singlish the first time you heard it, but after a while, you're getting used to it.

As of that tour you're planning to take, I also recommend you add Phuket into your list. I heard it's a very beautiful place. The Royal Palace of Bangkok is also highly recommended.

Also there's quite a few of pictures I want to post. I'll see if I have time to do that.

I looove singapore.. Many fun nights at Clarke Quay. Good clubs too.

and super nice safe.. seriously.. you could go drunk in the worst part of town with $100 bills taped to you and you'd be fine.

I heard there are more undercower cops there than anywhere in the world - thats part of the reason supposedly.

Anyway - luuuuv it.

Clarke Quay is a great place. Nice and calm during the day, but it's a very happening place in the night. The fact that I'm staying just a few blocks away from there makes it just great.

A few more pics before I went for my grub:

St. Andrew's Cathedral.

Detail of St. Andrew's Cathedral buttress.

Another detail of the buttresses.

St. Andrew's Cathedral's beautiful stained glass.

I have no idea what this building is. Probably a fire station or something - but it's located next to The Church of the Good Shepherd and it looked interesting.

Side view of CHIJMES from the front. It was the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus (CHIJ), but now it's converted to a beautifully restored commercial area.

CHIJMES from the back.

A view of an alley in Bugis area.

I found similar staircases while wandering around the alleys in Little India.

A Church a few blocks away from Sim Lim Square.

Here's an example of a perfect Singlish
Anyway, you're a Singaporean right? Do you know some other interesting places? Preferrably not in the city, as probably I would've already seen it (I went up and down around the city on the last trip)

Nope not a Singaporean. But i came in contact with one a few years ago and Singlish sticked with me. I know that Sentosa Island is quite nice. Besides that, i am drawing a blank!!

I know that Singlish gets "traumatic" for me when he started to add local dialects with English.....pretty funny if you ask me but you need at least a good year worth of hardcore talking just to understand it!!
