Paypal Verified Member...worth it? and other Ebay questions...

I have been selling on Half.com since it's inception but I recently decided to sell a few items on Ebay for various reasons. I have been a Paypal member for quite some time but have only used their services for paying only. I get emails all the time to become a "Verified Member" but in reading the explanation for it on their website, it seems rather unnecessary and I don't fully understand the benefits if any.

Anyone care to explain?

I also seemed to remember that there was a way to earn interest on your money if you left it in your Paypal account. Is that still possible and is it worth it?

One last question...I recently sold my first item but and sent the invoice thru Ebay to the buyer. They tried to pay direct thru Paypal but when they tried to send the payment, they were told was unregistered. I called Paypal and tried to get some help on that but they pretty much had no clue. Any ideas?

Thanks. By the way, I did a search and did not find any answers for the above.

IIRC, you will eventually have to get verified as once you reach a certain limit, they won't let you send money any more.

Yeah, you'll have to become Verified. Is there any downside to not doing so?

eBay and PayPal are two parts of a whole, so if you eBay, you're gonna be using PayPal for the financial side.

Your thinking of having a premier account vs personal. I believe you can be verified and still have a personal account.

IF your really serious for auctions and what to use Paypal go verified and premier have to pay a fee, but can take credit cards.

I just sucked it up and became a premiere member (I was selling above the $500/mon threshold). It is worth it, because people feel 'safer'.
