Please help me find this product!

I LOVE ceiling projection alarm clocks. Mine died and I need a new one, but I can't find one that I want.

Has anyone ever seen one that has atomic time, projection, and a clock radio alarm?

after a 3 second google search of ceiling projection alarm clocks it gave me this one right at the top of the search.

Never used one, so I'm not sure about the price or features.

After a 1 second look at your link, I see that it doesn't have a RADIO. Thanks for the sarcasm though.

Maybe he should have done a more careful four second search.

The La Crosse Clock Company puts out some really cool products that fit your criteria. They don't seem to have a website though. http://www.explorewisconsin.com/LaCrosseClockCompany/ is the closest I could find and it does have contact info for the store so you could call or email.

Woooo.. Never even thought of such a thing. That's a great idea and looks sweet. So, I'm guessing it only displays the info as the alarm is going off? Man, that's sweet.

Let me know if you get one and which one you got...

I wonder if it displays the time, or the bat symbol?

So... X puts up a clock without a radio, and gets a chuckle.

I see how you are.

This concept would never work for us. We had to relocate our alarm clock to the bathrooom because:
1) My wife can't handle any light on in the room at all (heaven forbid I charge the cell phone in the bedroom, the LED must be BLINDING!!)
2) It's much harder to overly snooze when you have to take 15 steps to get to your alarm clock.

I'm not sure about that one, but according to the picture in this week's Toys R Us ad this one shows both. And it has a radio. And it's cheaper. But no atomic time. Just Bat-time.

The projection on the ceiling is very dim. It's set so you can really only see it when you eyes are adjusted to the dark and you look at the ceiling. It doesn't brighten the room at all. I think they are one of the greatest inventions in a long time.

Projection clocks have been around for over 30 years.

She makes me cover the recording light on the TiVo.

But even if we got past that, I don't think she'd want this in the bedroom.

I thought "one of the greatest inventions in a long time" implied that. Just as I wouldn't say "airplanes are one of the greatest inventions in a long time."

And even though they have been around for a long time now, they have only been mainstream for consumer use in the past 5-10 years.

I've never seen or heard of one. I'm really wanting to get one.. Don't think the wife will go for the Batman one tho.

GJ, did you decide on one yet? The one w/ the weather and time is sweet but I don't think I can spend $40 on an alarm clock.

Here's 5 pages of them:

The one at Target (Early post above) is the best contender so far, but I hate analog radio tuners.

What would be cool is if they posted the sound the alarm makes.. We don't use the radio to wake us up (I find myself start to sing the songs and fall back to sleep).

I wouldn't want to order one online only to find out it's the most annoying sound I've ever heard.

And yea, sure it's supposed to be annoying enough to wake you up but you get my point..

Just to make sure.. And I'm assuming this is how it works.. It only projects the time when the alarm is going off right?

I kind of assumed that they always projected the time, not just when the alarm goes off. But I'm guessing, as I've never had one (even though they've been around for over 30 years!)

Well, it might vary from model to model, but every one I've seen projects it all the time unless you turn that function off. The point is, when you wake in the middle of the night, you can just open your eyes and look at the ceiling / wall to see what time it is.

Hmm, this changes everything! My wife is sorta like Falcons (but not that bad). She actually puts a shirt over the alarm so the light given off by it is covered.. I was hoping that it would just display it as the alarm went off...

Oh well. I'm going to Target at lunch and I'll see if they have any (in store). I may give it a try...
