I'm glad they don't allow pics in sigs here. I haunt other boards that do, and people load tremendous amounts of stuff (read: crap, like 500x500 pics, countdown bars, pics of their cat, animated gifs that are several megs in size, etc.) that make the page's load time increase dramatically. This board is clean and smooth, and for that i'm grateful.

The original post illustrates nicely why pics aren't allowed in sigs.

However, if they were I would have a brooding anime character and an accompanying mournful saying.

i wouldnt put one in

pics, colors, increased font size, spaces, etc.. in sigs are annoying as hell

on second thought


i would definitly use a VERY LARGE really cool image that appears to be slow loading, but turns out to be a nasty monster jumping out and screaming really load.

I think pics in signatures only appeal to the type of person who would call it a "siggy".

To play devil's advocate, sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. Look at the picture in the first post carefully. It conveys a mood, a feeling that seems to say "Take what you can... give nothing back." How would you do that with mere words?
