The Gods have smiled upon us! Mountain Dew Pitch Black II

Pitch Black is back, and with a sour bite.

I just picked up a 2ltr at the store today. Haven't opened it, but I'm looking forward to it.

Now, if only I can get Mt Dew Baja Blast (as seen at Taco Bell) in 2ltrs.

PitchBlackExperiment.com
BTW, this site didn't work to well for me, but I'm on Linux with Firefox, so alot of sites don't work properly. Hey, site developers, your true target audience for any Mt Dew product, the computer geek, alot of them are not on Windows with IE.

I've been drinking some for the last week or so. Saw it at a gas station while driving a couple weeks ago and tried it, then I found that they had 2 liters of it at my grocery store last week. Picked up 6 liters, have gone through about half of it.

It's basically the same as the first Pitch Black was (grape with a lot of fizz), but they added something else to it that gives it a slightly sour aftertaste. The flavor does actually change for the aftertaste. Kind of like any sour candy really, but not as strong. Tasty though.

When you pour it into a glass, the fizz starts off purple, and changes to blue. Kinda cool, and only a bit disturbing.

Yeah, Ive been drinking it for about 2 weeks now. It comes in a normal 12-pack of cans as well. I like this version much better then last years. Better stock up before its gone...Like LiveWire :-(

Livewire will be back next summer for those interested.

Pitch Black II will be discontinued around Thanksgiving.

I hope they never make Baja Blast available outside Taco Bell. The stuff tastes like crap!

I loved the original but unless the new one has a Diet version I'll have to pass.

I tried a bottle of it a few days ago. I like it a lot, and this is coming from someone that didn't really like Pitch Black I too much.

Yeah.. all these new flavors and none of them diet.

At least codered has a diet. But I'd love me some livewire diet. That is the best dew flavor.

Still available here.

I LOVE Baja Blast. I would love to get that outside of Taco Bell.

Pitch Black I was a disappointment. I will probably give II a shot though.

Yeah, baby! Maybe we need to start a petition. I want Pitch Black and Live Wire in diet form! Dammit!

Pitch Black II was pretty good, I thought. Just can't drink regular pop any more.

So why are some parts of the country out of LiveWire? They have sold it here non stop since it came out. Now if they would only make a diet version.

I just want Live Wire in 12 packs again. It's still around but only in 20oz gas station prices.

Sales. It apparently sells well enough in certain regions to not take it off the market. Same with Pepsi Blue which I liked. It's a no go here, but I've seen it in other places when I'm travelling.

Agreed. Perhaps my local T.B. just didn't mix it right, but I poured out the rest after a sip (thank goodness for free refills).

I tried Baja Blast for the first time at the Taco Bell drive-thru last week. I had to pour it out after a few sips. I couldn't believe they were selling a fountain drink that tasted that bad--and I can't believe *anyone* would like what I tasted.
