random problem with a new but SMELLY couch

So we bought this new couch, and for some reason, it smells like feet. I don't know what it is. We tried to febreeze it a trillion times, but to no avail. Does anyone know how to get rid of this random smell? or have experienced something similar?

I'd call the place you got it from and tell them that it smells like it's been used and returned then resold as new. Bitch enough and they may take it back. If you can't or don't want to go that way, you can always try steam cleaning it. Best of luck.

Back in the day I shared a house with 3 guys from work. One guy brought a couch when we moved in that he slept on for 363 of the 365 days we lived there.

Worst. Smelling. Couch. Ever.

haha, all very helpful and constructive comments.

It's that cloth/suede material. I looks like new, but I have no clue why it smells.

Maybe it's outgassing some noxious chems that smell like feet.... nothing like aging synthetic fibers to give off some funk.

So, is it suede or not? What's the actual material it's made of? Is there no tag on it or something?
