I felt something crawling on my hand last night! (Ever been bit by a spider?)

...and I brushed whatever it was it off, and now I've got this swollen red bump on the top of my wrist and it stings and hurts like HELLl!!!

I squoze it (or however you spell the past tense of "squeeze"), and clear stuff came out, then I squoze it again, but this time really, really, hard, and it popped and bled, then I went and washed my hands like 3 times with really seriously hot water and put bactine on it.

What could it be?

A Spider?

A Bed Bug?

A Snake?

In all my years, I've never been bit by a spider, but that's probably what it is because we like spiders. They eat all the bad bugs & flying things or whatnot around the place. We actually let them stay in the house unless they get too personal (like crawlin' in our bed), then we catch 'em (in a plastic bottle) and let them out, outside.

Ever been bit by a spider?

Was it serious?

Did you live?

-Paul

There are only like 3 kinds of poisonous spiders in the U.S. The odds are that everything will be fine. Clean it with wound cleaner and draw a circle around it with a marker. Check it again in a few hours. If the spot is bigger, go to the hospital.

I hate you.

I've killed a big spider each day this week in my house, and got bit by one too. Now I have a huge bite on my leg that has a red and purple bruise about the size of a quarter around it. The spider is my arch nemesis.

At least here in MN they aren't poisonous. Growing up in NE I was bit twice by the nasty ones, one I cut the wound out with a razor blade before it spread, the other I still have a hole in my skin from. I can laugh about it now because I didn't die.

As with most past tenses, just add a 'D'. And why the hell didn't you look at what was on your hand? I would scramble like hell for nearest light to find the bugger and kill it.

I slept (sleeped) on the floor of my apartment for a while when I was poor. I kept (keeped) waking up in the morning with a painful bump on my leg or back. One weekend, I tore (teared) the pile of blankets and pads apart to make it less lumpy. In the middle, I saw (seeed) a spider with five legs. I guess that I kept (keeped) rolling over onto the poor guy, and he bit (bited) me out of spider-terror.

I've been biten a few times by, what I assume to be standard house spiders. The bite area might "grow" and turn various colors (blue, red, black, et c).

Have felt any inclinations to stick to walls? This could be a cool, life-changing event for you!

If you want to get grossed out, Google "spider bite" and check the images. Ick.

muggy: WOW!!! I'm sorry I missed your thread, but I'm sincerely glad to hear you're a-okay!

FT: & (Thanks for doin' that!)

Well, Treesa says I have to go to the Doctor.

She says she doesn't wanna hear me cry-babyin' about it ALL weekend so I've gotta goto the Doctor.

...in reality, it HAS gotten worse.

Last night it was getting red around the bite thing, and today the area around it has swollen to about the size of a large wrist watch, and it hurts and aches, but it hurts worse when I move my wrist, AND I HAVE TO MOVE MY WRIST!!!

Actually, today it looks like a really bad pimple but at the same time like a tiny red volcano, with puss "standing-in" for the molten magma.

To tell the truth, I am kinda worried about it.

I LOVE spiders, but they OBVIOUSLY don't Love me.

LIL' BASTARDS!!!

My appointment is at 1:45 this afternoon. I hope I survive until then, and hope I'll have enough strength to drive over to Beverly Hills (to pick Treesa up) and then walk across the street to the Doctor's office without fainting.

Maybe I should call an ambulance?

Maybe I shoulda made this thread a POLL, but I didn't know I was gonna die when I originally wrote it...

Oh well, if I do die, I want you all to know that it's been a GREAT 6 years. Through the laughter and the tears, the ups & the downs, the sicknesses & the healths, for the better and the worst, through it all, I Love you, no matter how much some of you hate me, or just don't like me, or are jealous of me, or don't give a shat either way, because I Love you regardless.

Blah Blah Blah...etc, etc, etc...

HOWEVER...

If I actually "LIVE", I'll UPDATE this thread when I get back from the Doctor's office.

I'm gonna eat lunch now, so don't bother me.

Love ya ALL...

Your Brother "OTT",

Paul

Good luck Paul.

I'm sure you'll be fine, hopefully it's just a slight allergic reaction.

It almost sounds like a fire ant bite (if you think spiders are "little bastards", then you need to meet a fire ant ). Do you have those around your area?

Well, we just got home and it looks worse that it did before I left.

The Doctor said, "It should be okay, but if it doesn't get better, come it, no better yet, just come in on Monday morning at 9 am."

He prescribed Keflex (500mg.), an antibiotic I took once years ago when I had pneumonia the first time.

taley!

I believe they do. I know about fire ants, have felt the wrath of their hot kisses, and I've had some "over all" (literally) experience with ants and their bite :

When Ants ATTACKED Tee-Paul!" or, Have you ever actually had ants in your pants?

THEEK!

Er...you shouldn't have squeezed it. I would see a doctor if the bite expands in size, gets swollen, red, warm, or tender.

Oh wait...you already saw one, and are on Keflex. Good.

This is how abscesses form, my friend.

Yeah, I know, I know...

But I HAD to get the POISON OUT!!!

You know, like when a rattlesnake bites ya, you SUCK & SPIT!

(...little did I know, squeezing it just spread the YUCK around... )

Here's some small pics of the bite.

The first four were taken on my man skirt, the fifth was taken on Judge Judy, and the last one was taken on the set of the remake of American Gigolo:

(I'll post larger ones when I figure out why they're coming out so small)

THEEK BITE!
