Anyone see Cook E. Jarr's show?

I was listening to a set by comedian Patton Oswalt and he mentioned that lounge singer Cook E. Jarr is a Vegas institution. That caught my ear as I'll be heading to LV on Thursday and would like to schedule some (non-adult) entertainment for my friends who won't accompany the rest of us to the strip clubs. We're already going to see Penn & Teller, but this sounds like it could be fun, too.

Anyone ever see Cook E. Jarr's show? Is it fun to go to? How much is it? And, most importantly, where does he play now? I've done a Google search and it seems like he moves from casino to casino (last article I saw was from 2004 and said he performed at Harrah's).

Never seen him, but here's his schedule:
http://www.lasvegas.com/searchagent/...iew.do?id=4294

He'll be playing for a couple of days later in the month outside of Harrah's in the Carnaval Court (The annoying pavillion thing outside that totally gets in your way as you're walking down the strip.)

Doesn't look like he's working this week or next week. Might want to doublecheck that for sure though.

Here's a listing of ALL types of shows, big and small, free and charge:

EDIT:

I don't know if you caught this link at Google:
http://www.las-vegas-shows-reviews.c...-las-vegas.htm

It gives more info, includnig a Cook E. Jarr hotline for up to date show times and locations: (702) 737-PROA.

I just called his hotline and he only plays on Tuesday and Wednesday nights - and we arrive into town on Thursday. Oh, well - maybe next time.

Check out the link above for all the shows around town. Lots of great free lounge acts around, and many more that are inexpensive or free with coupons that are usually printable from their website or laying around the casino floor.

I saw him at Harrah's (outdoor bar in front of the property) this summer. It was free to get in, but the drinks were very expensive. He's definitely not worth planning your trip around, but it was memorable...a very unique individual. He mostly did covers of 70s funk, hip hop, rap, etc. He's been on Jimmy Kimmel occasionally as well.
