Countdown to AudioWizard's Wedding...and all questions that come along the way.

Well it's getting close now. I'm getting married on October 8th--5pm. I thought I would start this thread so I could ask questions as they come up. The questions aren't going to be about putting on the wedding due to the fact that my bride and her wedding planner are dealing with that craziness. The questions will be more like "How do I make her put DVDs back in alphabetical order when she's done with them"...stuff like that.

So today (Thursday Aug 11).

We met with the Pastor for counseling. I don't really attend church but she does. He gave us a couple of (stupid) question that I was unable to answer to his satisfaction and was told to think about them and we would talk when we went back. I thought I would give the Otter a chance to give me the answer for when I go back.

Why do you want to get married?

Why do you want to get married in a church

Sheesh, man... if you can't answer the "why do you want to get married" question... maybe you shouldn't be doing this.

Here's how I would answer those questions:

Q. Why do you want to get married?

A. I for one got tired of dating OVER & OVER & OVER again. I had more girlfriends than any man deserves! It got to the point that I wanted just ONE woman, to spend the rest of my life with. (That was 24 years ago, and Man, Oh Man! What I'd give for a one night's stand right about now!!! Just kidding, Darling Dearest Honey Sweetheart... )

Q. Why do you want to get married in a church?

A. I suppose Church weddings are great (and to each his or her own), however, we didn't choose to go that route. We simply got married at the courthouse downtown, and it was one of the best days of our lives.

(Someday, I'll post the pictures! )

If we were to do it again, we'd probably do the Vegas/Elvis Chapel thing, just for fun.

-Paul

A. "It's time to buy the cow"

Q. Why do you want to get married in a church?

Don't worry I would still leave her for the sexy little OTTER if only she would return my calls.

I'm an athiest, so I wouldn't get married in a church. The Las Vegas thing is what I've always imagined for my fun wedding. Later I'd go for a nice hall rental for my serious marriage. My wedding would probably be the first wedding I ever attend, as no one's ever invited me to one before.

Seriously though, good luck with everything.

UPDATE-

I'm closing on a new house Aug 31st and we have starting packing my stuff up. I swear her plan is throw away all things that i've owned before meeting her (Couch, desk, coffee table, bookcase...etc).

When you fellow OTTERS got married did your wife throw all your stuff away?

FEMALE OTTERS- When you got married was your plan to get rid of all his stuff?

PS- It took 7 moving boxes to pack my DVD collection.

Don't worry you won't need that many for your next move. At least you won't need any MORE than 7.

Your DVD buying days are over, pal.

I'm reminded of the old Sam Kinison routine about wanting to go out with his friends, but his wife has removed his penis.

What's hers is hers, and what's yours is hers too.

Just remember that and you'll be fine.

I brought my inheritance and many fine antiques and paintings and sculptures and such, so she welcomed me and all my "junk" with open arms!

A.W., if she's anything like Treesa, your in for the most rewarding, Loving years of your life.

BTW: Here's wishing you and your little Lady only the Very Best of Everything and a Lifetime of Great Health, Peace, & Love.

Not right away. But my original Junk Room (Movie posters, toys, movies) became a Junk wall, then over time the wall did not go with the rest of the room so it became a Junk shelf.
Once we moved my Junk shelf became Junk boxes, then over time they became Junk boxes in the Yard sale....sigh.

Why do you want to get married? Because I can't imagine my life without [name of gf] in it. She is my soulmate and she completes me.

Why do you want to get married in a church? Because it's important to me to stand with [name of gf] before friends, family and God and declare our desire to be joined together forever publically.

Hope this helps.

Btw, girls don't want to get rid of your stuff unless it's ugly/tacky/gross. She may be wanting her new place to look as nice as posible. If it's a huge deal to you, ask her what her beef is with the items she wants to get rid of. Maybe something simply needs painted or "aired out" a bit....
