Re: Dorritos is the Devil!

I felt in the mood for an indulgence (and figured it was okay since I'm hitting the weights today) so I decided to try these:

They're surprisingly good.

Because people in Philly know what cheesesteaks taste like?

I suppose, still would like to try it.

I had a bag of the sour cream yesterday and they were delicious. Loved them

Re: Dorritos is the Devil!

Anybody here try Krunchers brand of chips? I like these flavors:

The BBQ flavor is okay, but nothing to write home about.

Re: Dorritos is the Devil!

I tried the dill flavor awhile ago. Good but overpriced.
Actually all chips are overpriced these days.

Without a sale price it's generally $3.50 or more for a bag of chips

I've enjoyed the Jalepeno Krunchers for several years now.

Re: Dorritos is the Devil!

... and how were they!?!?!

Since we're veering into other chip territory, I tried the Sweet Potato Popchips and the Chili Lime Popchips recently. The Sweet Potato ones were pretty decent, probably wouldn't get them again though.

The Chili Lime ones were awful though, just had a weird off flavor that wasn't either of the flavors they purported to be.

Re: Dorritos is the Devil!

I'm going thru the Chile Limon ones... pretty expensive for a bag, they were on sale 2 for $5. It's about double the single serving size.

Basically they take the normal Doritos chip and roll it into a stick. You get the lime flavor but it's got the kick of the 1st degree burn. Make my nose run a little.

Chile Lime Popchips are Horrible... I haven't been able to find the sweet potato ones locally.

I think these guys are pretty good. They've got a good bit of heat to 'em.

Re: Dorritos is the Devil!

I miss 3D Doritos. Those things were addicting. The new flavors don't wow me. I'll try them, though.

Re: Dorritos is the Devil!

I miss the Cheeseburger Doritos. I hope they bring those back some day. Way better than the retro taco flavor.

Re: Dorritos is the Devil!

More on Doritos Jacked...

Thank goodness the folks at Frito-Lay didn’t call their upcoming Doritos Jacked variety, Doritos Xtreme, because that would’ve been cliche. It would’ve been as cliche as me saying their new Doritos Jacked, which are 40 percent bigger in size and thickness than regular Doritos, are like regular Doritos on steroids.

The new thick variety of the triangular chips will come in two flavors: Enchilada Supreme and Smoky Chipotle BBQ.

Doritos Jacked will make their debut this week at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference in Austin, Texas, and will be available nationwide the week of March 26. The hefty chips will be available in three sizes: a 2.62 oz. bag for a suggested retail price of $1.09; a 3.375 oz. bag for a suggested retail price of $1.49 and a 10.5 oz. for a suggested retail price of $4.29.

Re: Dorritos is the Devil!

Bigger and thicker*? Was there anyone craving such a thing from their Doritos? If I can't fit an entire chip into my mouth, I don't want it. Also, if they're thicker, it means that the seasoning won't make as much of an impact.

*feel free to make any and all sexual puns, I'm too tired...

Ugh, every flavor of Krunchers I've tried have been awful.
They're really overseasoned, especially with onion salt.

Re: Dorritos is the Devil!

They have had the Enchilada flavor in the past, not in "Jacked" form though. They were ok as I recall, but they were kind of bland. The chipotle BBQ flavor sounds kind of familiar too... but it could have easily been another brand of chip.

They used to have those in a vending machine where I work - very addicting.

Tried these, they weren't as good. Also tried Herr's St Louis Baby Back Rib flavor which wasn't too bad, kinda like a different kind of sweet BBQ flavored rippled potato chips.

I've noticed the Herr's brand also sells "Heinz Ketchup" and "Dill Pickle" flavored chips. Never tried either of them though.

Haven't been hungry enough to try them yet, but will report back.
