Egyptian Days

We have this cool outdoor cat that lives around here. He would be an indoor cat at our house except that the first time I ever let him in, he immediately went “skeet skeet skeet” all over my laserdiscs. He shows no remorse and no signs of reform so now we put food and water outside for him.

Anyway, I was hanging out with him on my front porch having a smoke when the Sun cleared the clouds, bathing him in light.

Get this: he actually said, “Ra” in response to the light.

I have loved the gods from a very early age, but beside Bast and Anubis, none has made themselves known. Wotta trip that an emissary of Bast would signal an encroachment today.

Here’s a cute picture of the cat that put me in touch with the Sun God just before we pull the curtain on him with radioactive ash.

No kidding!

I can't even count the number of my duplicates I've had to drug and murder. (I never realized how tough my tendons actually are to cut. Making chicken never prepared me for this!)

Before the friskalating dusk sun-
The fronds of palm form concentric shadow mandalas-
I am ensconced in the protective tongue-
The raspy tongue.

And I purr to high heaven.
