Too long to paste. I still can't believe how stupid and naive some people in NYC are.

Quick summary is that the Greenwich Village area in Manhattan is some of the hottest RE in the world. NY has been turning public housing over to it's tenants by selling them the buildings and apartments at huge discounts to market prices.

In this case people have a chance to buy into RE at 1/10 or less of market value. Some of them are socialists and think it's bad making a lot of money in this way.

Not in a situation like this -- It's not like I am stealing from the government -- they are a willing seller in this transaction.

My wife's a socialist, but she's not an idiot. She'd jump at that deal. Some people who are left wing were born rich and know they'll never have to worry about money, and they assuage their white liberal guilt by never "selling out". Working class people who have left wing politics are far more pragmatic about it, and don't have that guilt bullshit because they've worked for what they have.

I'm a hippie communist who uses bartering to buy all my food and necessities. I live on a commune. And even *I* would jump on this hot deal.
