Does EBAY no longer list your own items in a search?

I haven't done an ebay auction in over a year, but just did one today.

It's been almost 2 hours, and on any search, "my" selling item doesn't appear. It is there, if I go to my ebay, but I can't "find" it on a search.

Does ebay now exclude your own items? If so, that's dumb, because I want to see where my item appears.

Or am I somehow screwed?

weird, I listed something in ebay motors like 7 hours ago and it doesnt show in the search, but something I listed in normal ebay section (low ticket item) showed up within 20 min. I emailed them like 45 min ago to see what was up

Yeah - finally after about 6 hours, it IS there. So my question is now moot, but the timing sucks.

It generally takes 2-6
hours for new listings to become fully searchable. There have been some
reports that a few listings are taking 1-4 hours longer than that to
index. It appears one of our indexing servers is lagging behind a bit.
Your listing may have been indexed on this server.
Your item is now
fully searchable for everyone to find.

The likely reason you were unable to find your listing earlier is that
it didn't have enough time to fully index through all of the search
tools. Each day, we run several indexing cycles for Search. These
indexing cycles are run to capture new information, such as new
listings, titles, descriptions, the auction start and end times, the
seller, the bidders and the bids. Hours cannot be added back to the
listing and credits are not issued for this.

Your auction will show up immediately by an item number search and
seller search because that is an exact match. However, it will take a
bit longer before you are able to search for new listings through a
keyword or category search because these searches take longer to index
onto the site.

Thanks again for writing, and thank you for being part of the eBay
community.

Regards,
response
