Any Best Buy employees?

Any current or past best buy employees, is the discount Best Buy offers for their employees worth it? I heard some where that the discount is cost + a percentage, if this is true, what is cost on most items? Do you save a lot? Anyone who has worked there with any thoughts or inputs would be appreciated.

items with big markups get big discounts. sale items have hardly any. accessories have a lot.

the job probably aint worth it for the discount. but then again it beats mcdonalds

What about DVD's or video games? What is the average cost of a DVD?

i worked there before dvds came out (i think, atleast before they were popular). i suspect there would be little discount on new releases. you might get something decent on box sets

There is little markup on Dvds cds and video games, and video game hardware gets no discount.

New Release DVD's you get nothing off of, unless there is no sale on them.

Box sets you get a decent percent off, but you can probably still get it cheaper on Deep Discount.

Video Games you get like 8 bucks off a 50 dollar game.

The best discounts are in Car Audio, You get like 60-70% off things. Home Theatre, you get like 25% off T.V.'s. Last week in Computers they had 30-40% off for employees.

The discounts aren't that good, but from what I'm told it's cost + 5%.

All those percentages are just an estimate on how much you get off.

And to answer the OP's question, even if the discount was 99.999% off it's not worth it to work there.

The only DVDs that are usually worth it for discount are Anime, Sports, Documentaries. WB titles on average are discounted more than other studios.
