414' Octopus! [disclaimer: not a real octopus, just a boring boat]

This is not a new story, but has anyone seen Paul Allen's yacht? At 414', The Octopus is the world's largest yacht. It doesn't look THAT huge until you notice the size of the helicopter on the bow.

Apparantly, it's now the second largest in the world behind Larry Ellison's new dingy:

Disapointed that this thread is not about a 414 foot long Octopus

I regularly see Ellison's yachts docked by me. I'm looking forward to seeing this one!

I'm looking at one of the "smaller" ones on that list right now, but I never knew who owned it. Thanks to your link, now I do.

What amazes me is that the (now) #3 largest private yacht in the world, the Savarona, was built in 1931.

That Octopus looks like a James Bond villain's yacht. Submarine dock?

No kidding. At that size and cost, it should have a Lear Jet catapult like on an aircraft carrier.
