What can you do in Atlanta for the weekend?

Hi all,

I am in Atlanta for the weekend in May (flying over form Australia for business)
What is there to do in Atlanta for the weekend? Only thing suggested to me so far is drive to Miami :-)

All ideas appreciated

Ouch...drive to Miami...that's a helluva long drive.

If you're into the night club scene, go to Buckhead and drink, flirt, and throw up to your heart's content. If you want to find something good to do like cultural or something, check out http://www.accessatlanta.com/ and see what is going on in town the weekend you're here. You could go and see the Braves play if they're in town that weekend. There are things to do, you just have to work at finding what is going on that particular weekend.

driving to savanna would be closer for the beach, although not warm like miami this time of year.

what kind of stuff do you want to do? tourist? artsy? nature?

Try not to get shot.
Shop at multiple gold tooth boutiques on the same street.
Also, the Coke museum is moderately interesting.

You can go to the Zep Chemical Plant just outside Atlanta. (I work for the same company out of Houston) Tell them you know me and you will get absolutely nothing at all. I promise.

Do not go to the Varsity despite the 1000000 commercials you'll see for it.

Most overrated piece of garbage place I've ever been.

I loved that place when I was a kid. I haven't been there in 15 years, so maybe it's gone downhill.
