Free Roll Junkie here, anyone else?
Do do the weekend Free Rolls for Poker Stars. I love'em. Yesterday in the NL Poker one, there was 6,000 and I place in the top 125. Sucks is you play for hours and hours with nothing to show except a mad wife.
I had about 80K chips and was top 5 at my peak yesterday then I just got raped a couple of times.
Who else loves free rolls? I also do free rolls with The Gaming Club Poker, Pacific Poker, and that's about it. What sites do you do free rolls with and what time are they at?

I look at free-rolls like dating a religious chick and trying to get her to sleep with you.
Tons of work, lots of long hours playing your planned strategy...
.. and 99.9% of the time you still end up with nothing but a jerk-off session at the end.

i play them a lot as well and El Scorcho sums it up pretty well.
I prefer Freeroll's at Ultimate Bet because they are more frequent and are capped at 2500 people.

I play here and there... I do well on free games and low $ games, but for some reason, the minute it gets to a few dollars a hand or a bigger tourney, I get raped on everything. Lost on all in with AA my last 10+1 tourney... go figure.

I like to play them on the weekends. The freerolls at Pokerroom are so swamped, that you have about 5 minutes to sign up, or all 2200 spots are full. I have been playing freerolls when I am down on my luck at bonus whoring and would like to go all in with 72o.

if i play one, i like to play one at a small site no one ever plays at... sometimes they will have 500$ or 1K tourneys with < 100 people in them... i find those much more enjoyable as they are much quicker and your equity goes up when there arent 5000 people playing

Instead of playing 10 freerolls in a week where you'd spend 25 hours playing them I would suggest going out for 10 hours and looking for change in the parking lots (this will equal about your expected return from the freerolls), then take 8 hours and watch either the Party or stars $250k/350k tourny (just pick one of the good players who is high on the tourny points leader board) and that will give you an idea of how many hands you should play and how aggressive to be early/mid/late in a tourny, then take your last 7 hours and read some books (Harrington On Holdem, Theory Of Poker, Tournament Poker For advanced Players are good choices) In the end you'll be much better off than playing the freerolls

well, I just played a 1000 points freeroll at Golden Palace Poker. I almost uninstalled it, but I am jumping through fucking hoops to get my money out.
I faxed them the info last Wed. They never received it.
Anyway, I just won the $350 freeroll, scored $95. Not bad considering the tourney only took a little over 2 hours.

Not sure if I'm allowed to post this, but, I run a poker community site called yougotbluffed.com. I run weekly $10 freerolls on a site called checknraisepoker.com It's really a lot of fun with a $2 bounty for knocking me out, and a $1 bounty for knocking out the leader. I also have a leaderboard where there will be prizes for who does the best at the end of the year.
Just a thought for you guys who are sick of having to be 6,000 people to win 50 bucks. First place in my tournament is 5 bucks, but you usually only have to beat 18 people or so.

I play in free rolls at Doyle's Room quite a bit. Nice and small room, for the most part. This morning I came in 5th out of 181 and won a hokey $20 for 2 hours of time wasted. All good fun though.
