Snow day on the east coast

In anticipation of the 6-12 inches of snow, my school district has canceled school for today (monday) already! NOT a flake of snow in the sky though!

We also had an early dismissal on Thursday and a 2 hour delay on Friday.

One of the perks of being a school teacher, although I would rather go in today and have an early dismissal so we dont have to make up the day.

Its seems like every snow storm is being WAY over hyped her in the suburbs of Philly! I personally like them now that I got my Pathfinder!

Same thing here...all the schools in the Wash DC area have closed and not a snow flake in the sky! I was hoping it would start snowing before I came to work....but *sigh*, here I am.

Just hoping that Queens County Public Schools close. Get something good out of it at least.

I'm hoping my classes get cancelled tonight. I could really use the time to study for an exam tomorrow.

Scaremongering by the local news once again in DC. Calling for 10 inches late last night (to begin at 4 am). Now down to 3 or 4 (and didn't start until after 9 am).

Unbelievable how wrong they are. It wouldn't be so bad if they tempered their predictions, but they never do. It's always the Storm of the Century coming to wipe Washington off the face of the earth.

At least schools are closed so my client isn't in today.

I'm sure all the government employees are all upset about the snowmongering too.

They screw up on those too. The 2-foot blizzards are usually predicted to be less than half-a-foot.

yeah, I was planning on being off from work, but when I woke up there wasn't a hint of snow. two hours later, still no snow. there's some flurries out now but that's it. I should have become a meteorologist. apparently you don't have to be responsible or accurate for anything. (I guess that's why they used to have attractive weather girls back in the day-since it's just guessing anyway) still, with all that equipment and shit, you'd think they'd be better than they are.

Started snowing here in northeast NJ about an hour ago. It's coming down like crazy now. Quickly got *very* windy too. National weather service says to expect 6-12 inches by midnight with blizzard like conditions at times.

Stupid winter.

We got 6-12" here, and schools are closed for the day (including the university--yay). The snow started last night and will apparently continue until Wed. (adding up to 6 inches).

Edit--I'm a moran. "Here" is Boone, NC, in the NW corner of the state. (I thought this was my "location," but I was wrong.)

I guess the DC metro area has never experienced a real snowstorm. I think the news stations waste too many resources covering people going to the supermarket or hardware stores. What's that supposed to do, encourage people sitting at home to go out? It's always an overreaction around here.

It's only snowing lightly on Long Island and we had school today, but I suspect tomorrow will be cancelled. Yay!

Here in Maine we aren't expecting anything until later tonight and thru until tommorow noonish. For school cancellation that's the optimal time to hit.

I wish I had a job where I could just make stuff up and if I was wrong there would be no consequences at all!
