A Big Happy Birthday shout out to Abe Vigoda

An open letter birthday greeting to Mr. Abe Vigoda.

Abe-

Can I call you Abe? I just wanted to drop you this line to wish you a happy 84th birthday! I am sorry that this letter comes 2 days late (only 2 day late on the west coast). It was very inconsiderate of me and I apologize.

I think I speak for everyone in our wonderful country when I say that my life is better now because of the wonderful work you have done on both the big and small screens. Who doesn't have a warm little nook of their heart labeled "Detective Phil Fish?" Who didn't fight back tears of anguish when your Tessio asked Michael Corleone for one more chance...for old times sake. Who didn't revel in the complex comedic undertones of your portrayal of Otis in the underrated classic, Good Burger.

So I take this opportunity to wish you, a Great Man, the happiest of happy birthdays and may you live to be a 1000 years old, sir.

Warmest Regards,
JustinS (a fan)

God bless him, he's so patriotic. He tried to enlist in Old Navy.

But after his physical, his doctor had some bad news for him. His blood type is O no.

Besides, Abe Vigoda won't save you any money on car insurance.

Happy Bday Abe!

Don't get too close to the candles... those eyebrows are fire hazards.

It seems like once a decade I think about good ole Abe and figure that he had passed away by now. Glad to hear that he's still around.

Abe rules. If you watch Conan, he's usually on once every few months.

I got in a yelling fight with a friend on the streets of NYC about 10 years ago. This friend swears that Abe just walked past us and I just KNEW that Fish was dead. I think we were both wrong.
