So they made it red in an attempt (i'm sure) to not offend anyone and get sued.. Wait until I tell the indians about this!!!

That looks more like a knife strike. The way I learned a shuto gake or uke was the knife hand (block) is horizontal.

Don't blame me, I just did a google search on "knife block". And I learned in bando to do a knife block with the arm at an angl like in the pic.
