So yeah... do you read in the bathroom?

I've been rereading The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy lately, in anticipation of the forthcoming film.

In the bathroom, while I'm using the toilet.

Now, it's a good book. I find myself reading even after I'm finished with the toilet's official use. Then I leave the book on its little stack of Men's Health, Maxim and Asterix books.

So, are you a bathroom reader yourself? How much of one?

I do so occasionally, but I mainly stick to magazines rather than novels.

However, I don't recall ever posting while on the toilet.

Wouldn't it dry up and get crusty after that long? Do you have to get in the shower to get yourself clean after this?

Everytime I sit down in the john, I am reading something, usually a book. I also read when I am on smoke breaks or sitting in a car waiting for someone or something.

I am one of those people who dances, hunched over, in danger of shitting my pants because I'm scanning the bookshelf, trying to find the perfect bathroom material. It's my own germs, so the filthy factor dosen't enter into it.

However, I am pretty grossed out about the 'community reading' at work. There is this book that has been sitting in one of the bathrooms for at least two years. I'm sure everyone in that building has flipped through that book while doing their business. So you can imagine my shock last year, when I witnessed a co-worker, sitting in his office reading the bathroom book while eating his lunch!

I read in the bathroom. That seems to be the only place I read the magazines I get.

One of my favorites:

Lots of other titles here.
"Our contents are divided by length: one-pagers for the reader on the go, two-to-three pagers if you have a couple minutes to spare, longer sections for when you want to relax, and our Extended Sitting Section—for a truly leg-numbing experience!"

I'm too quick doing my thing to make reading worthwhile.
