Irony...suicide attempt...

My mom called me this morning and told me that my brother tried to commit suicide last night. Almost a year to the day that I did last year. You think he would have learned.

I guess she also talked to my uncle and he told her that depression runs in our family, a fact we weren't aware of before. Guess I got a big helping of the 'depression' gene...at least I got a big penis to go with it. Consolation prize.

He cut his wrists. He's in the hospital right now, but I'm guessing he'll live.

I'm very sorry to hear this. I know he won't care, but he is in my thoughts.

I wish him a full recovery, and I hope he seeks some professional help.

I hope through his therapy he will take responsiblity for his actions, and learn from his mistakes.

It's like a black fly in your chardonnay,
It's like your little brother trying to kill himself roughly a year after you did.
Isn't it ironic,
Dontcha think?

I hope he comes out of this realizing he needs to get some professional help.

It's like rain on your wedding day. Or a free ride, after you've already paid.

By the way, how did you try to kill youself, and why?

That's freaky Tarintino. You seem to be in better shape though, at least what I can see from your posts. That's a plus. I hope your borther gets better physically and most importantly, mentally.

Did your brother cut himself with a spoon when he couldn't find a knife?

I killed myself with pills a year ago...brought back to life in the ambulance. There's a thread around here somewhere, I'll link to it later on. Maybe someone can learn from it.

Yes, I'm doing better emotionally...seeing what I put everyone through made me learn real quick...as long as you learn from mistakes, you can't be ashamed of them.

I'm hoping my brother also seeks professional help. We can't force him, but it's been suggested.

EDIT: Link to my suicide thread...

It brought up a lot of controversy, so it was ultimately closed.

Um, isn't getting help pretty much required if you try to kill yourself? It should be if it isn't.

When you're in the 'health ward', they give you a psychology test, but the one I took was easy as hell to lie through. Therapy isn't required, just suggested.

You're right, it should be required.

tarantino i read some of the first page of your suicide thread, and some of the A-HOLES that wrote responses need to be dick-slapped..

some jerkwad wrote, "was it cherry nyquil?" and someone wrote "next time, use a gun"/

Hey, the DVDTalk crowd is brutal, I expected nothing less. It never bothered me...although it did bother me that no one believed me after Seeker talked to Brandon...that seemed like enough proof to me. I think somewhere after I posted a copy of the insurance hospital bill with the important parts blacked out.

But remember...no matter how brutal they are...it's only the internet.

Glad you thought that up. Remember how brutal life is, it's still life, you drive on.

quote by Alexander Graham Bell
When one door closes another door opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us.

You got what Kurt Cobain called 'Suicide Genes'. Kurt's grandfather killed himself. Sad. How these things can be passed down?

As a Canadian, seeing a bill like that is pretty funny. Just from my POV it seems so bizarre.
