Sick as A Dog

103 Degree Fever. Feel Like Crap. Got the Flu (I think) from my daughter who had it all last week.

What sucks is... I feel so icky I don't feel like really watching DVDs... And isn't that the best part of being home sick?

I'm feeling under the weather at the moment myself, but I'm just run down.

Day 1 of being sick, you can't watch DVDs. Get loads of sleep as you'll need your energy for Days 2-n of being sick

Get well soon

Take care bud.

Plenty of fluids, some good drugs, and sleep.

Hopefully that will get you well enough to watch some DVDs.

Maybe you should try watching a few short films and see if you can keep them down. If you're still feeling okay, then maybe you can move up to a 80-minute long feature film.

Ugh - well, hang in there.

I have three strikes against me when it comes to illness. First, I work in a hospital. Second, I live in Cleveland, which these days is home of the extreme weather changes. Third, Cleveland is also habitually overcast, thus limiting the amount of sunlight people get (which directly weakens one's immune system, and also discourages outdoors activity that helps strengthen one's immune system.)

As a result, everyone around me has been sick repeatedly this winter. I've been incredibly lucky - my immune system is naturally (and undeservedly) strong - so I've cruised through without a hitch. But everyone around me accuses me of being the super-carrier for all of these germs, and they get angry at me for not getting sick. I just can't win!

Feel better, G-man.

Just be glad you don't live in Akron. There you can get a concussion just from ordering a pizza.

Feel better, Geoff.

103? Seriously you'd better see a doctor, any higher than that and Geoff is a gonner

I had a temp of 102 about 14 years ago, oddly I was sick for onlg about 24 hrs. laying in a bath tub full of cold water realy helped.

Just went through this very conversation with my doctor about a month ago when I was sporting a 101-102 temp for a couple of days. He told me that you really only have to start being really concerned if you hop the 104 mark and, even at that point, your biggest concern is still only dehydration. He said that your biggest problem in the 101-103 range is that you feel crappy.

Anyway, if there is a silver lining, Geoff, it's that (assuming that you have the flu that most people have been getting), you'll be ready to watch DVD's in a day+, but won't feel like doing much more for a couple after that.

In other words, you've got at least two full days of DVD watching ahead of you.

Get well soon!!!

Go to your doc asap. If it's the flu, it may not be too late to get antivirals. They can work wonders.

Hope you feel better. I'm sitting here sniffling like a loon. Had to get out of bed at 6am before I made a mess on my pillow (eeeeeew!). The best part is I got sick while on vacation in Paris days ago and had to walk around in freezing weather the whole time. Then come back to work and HAVE to be there due to some massive changes I must learn immediately. I wish I could just sit at home and watch DVDs.

Bummer - go for lots of liquids, and some spicy stuff - hot and sour soup is even better than chicken soup.

Get better Geoff. Powdered vitamin C, water and sleep should all be a part of your regime.

Man, that's a high temp. Feel better.

I'm getting sick myself. Snotty nosed people on the subway (of which I am sadly now one) just pass bugs back and forth all winter. Ugh. I feel like poo. I'm gonna be sleeping at my desk today.

103? Pfft! I've been 105 several times and so have both my kids. It's nothing some rubbing alcohol and a tub of ice won't take care of.
