Ebay Treasure Hunt: $25,000 a day given away.

http://pages.ebay.com/treasurehunt/

It started this morning. It's going to continue for the next 7 days. They give away clues and you have to find the auction.

For instance, the most recent clue was "A car or an actor" The answer was Harrision Ford and the $1000 was hidden in an auction for The Fugitive DVD.

Here is a copy of a winning page: http://public.wit.edu/~kaliszewskim/7Wonders.htm

Here is a news article about it: http://news.com.com/eBay+to+give+awa...l?tag=nefd.top

I think they release another $1000 every hour. Good Luck everyone!

Neat tool for those waiting for new clues. This page refreshes every 10 seconds automatically.

Easy- Hollywood. If you check the counters under the most recent auctions under Hollywood, you'll see that scores of people already have been following this trail.

I find it so amusing ebay has little forums setup ..why would people help each other? ..it's a contest..one person wins per clue...I sure as heck wouldn't be trying to help others...

I was looking at the Hollywood Squares auction for the one clue, the people selling must be thrilled since they have 5,000 views on the item

So far, I'm having a tough time making sense of the clues vs. solutions:

Old Faithful = Yellow and blue topaz stone ring
1800s express mail = Ralph Lauren polo shirt
Taxation without representation = Antique rose-colored porcelain tea kettle [I guess "tea"]

How about the people really trying to do business? Won't this just suck up bandwidth due to so many non-buyers and get the other items less attention?

Well, if they were obvious, it wouldn't be a challenge.

As for Robert Goulet, he's famous for being in Camelot on Broadway. Of course, I think his performance in Red Ships of Spain was far superior.

I also wonder exactly how many people will end up bitching at eBay because they can't seem to figure out the contest rules and end up buying random crap.
