What do you do with your arm while sleeping?

I wasn't sure how to phrase the thread title without making it an obvious mark, this seemed the best.

When sleeping in bed with someone else, I always wonder what to do with my arm. I'm mainly talking about if I lay on my right side, facing the girl, what do I do with my right arm? There isn't really anything that is comfortable, and I'm not one to sleep on my back or stomach for very long.

What do you guys do? Sleep with it straight down by your stomach? Above your head? Straight out, sprawled across your bedmates face? Or what about detaching it? If you do that, do you have a hammock or doggie type bed to rest your arm in at night?
Are there some with Go Go Gadget arms that can retract up into the armpit? Can I have surgery to implement this?

It seems that at this time, all I can accomplish is a John Travolta like dance where I sleep with it by my side, then move it up above my head, back down again, etc.

being used to sleeping in a bed with a chick, I tend to sleep with my back to her. In which case, what do I do with my arm while sleeping? I drool on it usually. If I want to face her, I just jam the arm under her pillow. She doesn't seem to give a shit.

After much careful consideration, I've come to the conclusion that I flail them around in the air wildly.

Most times I lay on my back, and the most comfortable way is for my arms to be straight at my sides. Or I'll lay on my side.. on my right side they could be anywhere, on my left side around my fianceť.

I've found that if I sleep for an extended period with my arms bent more than 90 degrees, they feel very cramped up in the morning.

Anything else you'd like to know?

There's something to be said for the concept of separate beds.

Hang them in the closet. Otherwise, they'll get too wrinkled to wear to work the next day.

Best if you can slip your arm under her neck - that way it doesn't create a hard lump in the pillow (and the weight of her head doesn't cause your arm to fall asleep.)

Alternative: Stretch your arm out at the 2 o'clock position over her head and hook it behind part of the headboard, if possible.

I usually just sleep on my right arm which sucks because I dislocated it in highschool and often times I'll wake up with it numb and dislocated again.........(my arm that is).

hmmm. I usually sleep on my right side. I have my right arm under my pillows, with my head resting on top. My left arm is draped over my man's side, creating a "spooning" effect.

Have you guys lost the romance or what?

I tend to sleep on my left side so my left arm rests on my right shoulder.

DING DING DING--we have a winner. thats exactly what i/we do. only exception or addition is occasionally, when he is on the side and im behind him, i'll throw the top arm around him and the bottom one out behind me, leg nestled between his. i kinda end up half cocked at about at 60 degree angle but its a good stretch for my arm and feels great.

I don't sleep with my arms around my girlfriend. Once we decide to fall asleep, we fall asleep in the postion most comfortable for each of us. For her it is on her side, for me it is on my back, with my hands behind my head.

Is this like a metaphor for your whole relationship? If so I'd suggest going on a TV dating show and professing your love.
