What to do if your wife gets the wrong dvd?

My wife isn't very good at hiding my presents and she has been shopping for The Lord of the Rings Trilogy for me. She left the screen on the computer up and the one she is looking at isn't the extended version (the version I want). She gets upset when the gift she gets me isn't what I want and she will notice if I return it and switch for what I do want. What is my best course of action?

Change the screen to point to the Extended version.

Call the store she's goiing to and have them suggest she get the correct version.

Or go there yourself right now and tell her you want to get the extended version for yourself someday.

Next time you fool around with her. Stop and tell her she isn't getting to extended version.

go out and buy the extended edition yourself. then you'll have them both and can send in the $5 rebate. then either keep the other edition or bring it back.

or you could punch her in the face.

How about this...

Next time you get a chance, act all excited and tell her the following:

"I just heard that there is an EXTENDED VERSION of the LOTR Trilogy, which is even BETTER THAN the one I told you about before! If I get it, that is definitely the one I want to get!"

That way, she has the chance to go out and exchange the one she just got for you, but you place the blame for the misunderstanding on yourself, so she won't be upset or feel guilty.

Then, if she still gives you the wrong version, I'd exchange both the DVDs and the wife.

I'd go with the second option.

Am I to understand that you allow your woman to come in contact with DVDs meant for you?

Is she buying it online? Do you know her password? Send her out on an errand and make a change in the order . . . she probably wouldn't notice.

Say thanks, and then beat her with the dvd.

Give her a good old-fashioned beating, put her back in line.

Sorry i'm feeling violent tonight...

Create a wish list on amazon.com that she can search and see exactly what you want then divorce her after she screws up a gift.

Just tell her that you thought she might be wanting to buy you the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and if so you *really* want the extended version. See what she says.

If this is something you wanted she should know exactly what she's supposed to buy. Just go with her and get it. It's not like it's a surprise anyway. Which brings up another point of mine. I HATE HATE HATE it when anyone tells me what they want for a holiday. That totally beats the premise of gift giving. If thats the case I just give them money and tell them to buy what they want. Just a pet peeve of mine.

I think you need to sit her down and have a long drawn out discussion about the importance of extended, ultimate, collector's series, director's cut, limited edition, uber dvd's.

Tell her - contrary to what she's told you - size does matter.
