How painfull is death by malnutrition?

Seems nearly everyone in nursing homes and many parts of world end up experiencing this but I dont see much facts online about what it likely feels like. I know my grandmother apparently at end died from it, though many other problems proceeded it. I thought I seen some show on tv about guy that hiked around usa that died to starvation out in boons because he ran out of food. They mentioned some kind "high" affect at end he faced. So one of worst ways to go or not so bad?

The very end may not suck, but the suffering while you get to it would.

There was a lot of discussion of this in the media during the hunger strike (and ultimate death from starvation) of Bobby Sands in 1981. From what I remember, the general consensus was that one sufferred greatly.

Don't eat for a few days and find out.
