Ever stood up a date?

There was a time where I said I'd meet this girl at the big tree in front of Hollywood High (out there on Sunset Blvd), and well, I never did, but while sitting in the back seat of a friend's car and driving away (with another girl), I saw her just sitting there all alone at the tree, waiting for me...but I never met her.

I never saw her again and wonder if she like committed suicide or something???

I have this reoccurring haunting vision of her STILL sitting there TO THIS DAY, like a mummy, rotting there in her old age....

...just waiting there...

!!!FOR ME!!!

THEEK!

Yes. I have also bent over a date. The posable ones are great. Just don't get them too close to open flames.

Probably, but knowing me it wouldn't have been intentional. I would have gotten drunk and forgotten all about the date.

What's up with all these relationship threads, THEEK?

I've never been on a date, so nope, I've never stood anyone up.

I've been stood up and never had a chance to do it to anyone else. Fortunately I was not waiting under a tree.

Rarely.

I am big on common courtesy type things...so I'd at least call with a BS excuse, so they aren't waiting around for me. By practice, if I agree to go out with someone...that means that I'm not likely to ditch them.... at least until we start the date, then all bets are off.

peddy: I can respect that on the highest level of honor there is. &

(WOAH BABY! Now THAT was a bull's-eye from a hip-shot and it struck a nerve DEAD ON!!!)

PLEASE EVERYONE!!!

DON'T MISUNDERSTAND!!!

Not unlike peddy, I'm really big on courtesy and consideration of others too...actually, it means the WORLD to me, really! (Just ask Treesa!) I could give examples that would truly embarrass me and literally shock others, but that's one for another thread on another day...

Besides (and if it's any consolation), I was only 15 when I did that!

...and it was the FIRST and LAST time I ever did it!

OH GOD...

I'm so, so, sorry...

I've flaked on friends a couple times, but I don't believe I've ever stood up a date.

Nope. It's better to cut a date short than to just stand them up. ("So what do you want to do now?" "Actually, I think I'm going to go home.")

Now, not returning a phone call after sleeping with a girl is perfectly fine, but only because I've done that.

Not really. Worst I've done is call a couple of hours beforehand to cancel (this was a second date and the first wasn't so great) so I could go out with someone else I just met (I still went to the same place, just with a different person, and it was much better).

Well, one time in college I had a couple of dates with a girl who lived several hours away. I lost interest but she kept writing. I never replied. 20 yrs later I still feel guilty about it!

Once, when I was a teen. Was supposed to meet her on the boardwalk but chickened out and just watched her from the restaurant above. It was kinda fun, but I still felt bad about it.

Once--looong time ago... She wanted to go and "see a movie." I don't know why I said "yes", knowing that I never intended to go. Maybe because she wouldn't take no for an answer.
I can't even begin to describe the list of epithets she had prepared when we ran into each other a few days after...

I left in the middle of a date while the girl that I was with was in the bathroom, does that count?

(by the way, I was her ride home. I'm an asshole )
