It's Good to Be King...a new "fun" forum game (2 slots open!)

Now that I've been reinstated, it's time for another entry in my attempts to create a forum game that is at once "fun" but requires very little "work" on my part. So, without further ado I present It's Good to Be King!

The rules:

1. There are fifteen players, ranked as follows:

1 King
2 Princes
4 Dukes
8 Lords

2. Every turn, each player distributes "Prestige Points" (or PP) for or against the other players as they see fit. For example, if you have 4PP to distribute, you can put 2pp FOR one player, and another 2pp AGAINST a second player. You cannot distribute PP to yourself.

3. The number of PP you have to distribute is based on your rank:

King - 8 PP (It's good to be king!)
Prince - 4 PP
Duke - 2 PP
Lord - 1 PP

4. After all the PP is distributed, each player is evaluated as follows:

FOR PP - AGAINST PP = TOTAL PP

The player with the highest PP becomes King, the next highest becomes Prince, etc. Ties will be resolved based on rank from the previous turn. At this time, all votes will also be revealed so you can see who gave you love.

Any player who fails to distribute all their PP will be "executed" and dropped from the game.

5. The goal? To become king and stay there as long as possible. Oh, and to have "fun."

6. For now, new turns will be run every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. PP distribution must be emailed to Groucho (use the link in my profile) by Midnight Pacific Time. But this is just a small part of the game...the real meat of it is in the diplomacy!

7. Initially, the game will be limited to 15 players in order to keep Groucho from being overwhelmed...signup NOW in this thread (first come first serve).

8. Suggestions are welcome.

If a train leaves Boston at 4pm headed for Chicago at 70mph and another train leaves Chicago at 6pm headed for Boston at 50 mph, and a bear shits in the woods do you hear it if the pope is catholic?

You know, I do think it'd be cool if the forum had some games attached to it. While I don't ever want to play online chess against [email protected] (which usually involves my faceless opponent taking moves out of ChessMaster while hurling third-grade insults), I'd be keen to play against, say, Otto. Anyone know if the forum software supports this?
