Someone stole my hubcaps!

Worst part is - I can't remember when the last time I looked at my wheels to see them on there. I would imagine it happened last night since I noticed this morning that they were missing by just glancing at my car. That means that someone in the neighborhood did it and if I replaced them, they would just come back and rip those off too. Plus, I just hate the idea of someone being ballsy enough to just walk onto my property and steal from me. Makes me feel like I need to sit on the roof with a shotgun 24/7 to protect my crap.

Don't laugh too hard, but it's a '93 Ford Explorer and to replace the caps is gonna be about 100 bucks (cheapest I've found - if you can find em cheaper, you'll be my hero). I felt ghetto enough driving such an old car (even though it's in great condition), but now I'm driving one with no hubcaps. Bleh.

Here's what they look like - they took the center caps (A) -

Walmart has plastic spinner wheel covers. And the sad thing is, I've seen 4 cars with them on already.

I'm gonna pass on spinners... I just want to replace the center caps. I don't mind aftermarket ones that say "baby on board" or the name of a college or whatever... just something that covers up the lugs.

Actually - if anyone can find me a set that will lock with a key - that would be sweet.

It doesn't make me feel particularly better to know someone else is also suffering.

A classic Trans Am got broken into a few nights ago, right across the street from my house. I felt really bad for the kid; it had been his project for about a year and now it's completely ruined.

Sorry someone swiped your hubcaps.

My friends car, which was killed the other day, had those.

Edit: My friend wasn't killed.

you think $100 is bad for 4 centercaps? i know someone who spent $60 on ONE centercap, and it wasn't even the same color as the one on his rim.

and more stupidity, someone jacked one of my valve stem caps

I've had valve stem covers stolen before... sucks. But yeah - $100 bucks is bad. I don't have $100 to spend on crap like this. And if I buy em, they'll probably come back and swipe em again. I don't wanna just leave em off cuz it looks kinda ghetto and unprofessional.

This isn't as bad as when I had my car stolen twice, but it's worse than when someone stole the cover to my tow hitch. It's not quite as bad as when someone was coming into my backyard and stealing lighters... the lighters didn't cost as much, but it was a bit more of an invasion of privacy.

If I bought new rims, I'd have to get 5 (one for the full-sized spare also) and it would be way more expensive... plus, my luck - those would get stolen as well (along with my tires this time).

I didn't even think of craigslist - but a search turned up nothing. Every time I've posted in craigslist/phoenix - it's been ignored. Not a very active city for that site. I'll maybe post a request though and see what happens. Perhaps the theif will sell em back to me.

You know - I kinda wish a thief would just come knock on my door and say "Hey - I was thinking about stealing your hubcaps, but thought I'd ask if you would just give me 20 bucks instead so I can go buy crack." - I'd rather just give em the 20 bucks...

... (and then follow them and murder them in an alley).
