Winter "cancelled" in New York City

Well, at least temporarily ...

Warm Weather Forces Cancellation Of City's Winter Festival
JANUARY 07TH, 2005

Itís a washout for the cityís weekend winter festival.

Originally planned for Saturday and Sunday, city officials say impending rain and warmer than usual weather has forced them to cancel this year's event.

Held in Central Park, the festival normally features activities such as snowshoeing, snow sculpting and cross-country skiing. However, given the fact we've only had three inches of snow so far this year, there isn't enough of the white stuff to go around.

There's no word on whether the festivities will be rescheduled.

It's in the 30's and 40's right now, but supposed to warm up, reaching into the mid to upper 50's by the beginning of the week.

That's my kind of winter!

I think I must have brought the warm weather up here when I moved here.

Yep. It does suck. I miss the days when it would snow a few inches at least once a week.
