Getting sick

I can feel myself getting sick. A cold I think. Runny nose and feel really tired.

With all the cold medicines out there I need some help picking the best. Any suggestions? I heard that "Airborne" stuff is supposed to be good. Anyone try it?

Take some zinc. That really seems to help me when I feel a head cold coming on.

I've always enjoyed drinking as much as possible when I get a cold. Makes the drainage taste a little better. But, you are at work. Unless you are extremely lucky, drinking is probably a no go.

For a cold, I just go with the always fun dayquil. It generally makes me fell like I'm drunk, so it's all good. When you get home, boil up some water and breathe in the steam every once in a while. It cleans you out really well. My father also used to say to snort (!?!??) salt water. I never had the balls to do that, but I hear it helps in clearing things out.

Try Cold-Eeze ASAP. http://www.coldeeze.com/

I felt a cold coming on just before XMAS so I took a few of these throughout the day. As I was trying to fall asleep that night my eyes started watering and I just knew I was going to wake up with a massive cold. Much to my surpirse I woke up with no traces of a cold at all - I felt great! This thing was pretty much a mircale drug for me that day and really saved my vacation from being crappy.

Definitly try Cold-Eeze.

My suggestion, too. Zinc, Echinacea, and Vitamin C are a great power trio.

I'm told Zicam is great as long as you take it at the onset of the cold.

It also seems like the earlier you hit it, the better.

Thanks for the suggestions. Hopefully I can stop it before it gets out of control.

Good point.

Also, if you go this route, but don't catch it in time, stop taking the Echinacea . . . it can actually slow the recovery time once you've actually gotten sick.

i thought i was dying friday.. didnt get out of bed friday, saturday, or most of sunday.
had to call in sick to work monday.. despite just coming off a 17 day vacation..
and came to work yesterday and today.. Im feeling alot better.. but still cant breath, and cant get rid of this terrible hacking cough..

but friday and saturday were by far the worse i have ever felt before.. that was one nasty flu.. no medicine to anything at all to help.. and i had just about every symptom imaginable..

and of course in the heaviest part of bowl seasons
