Anna Nicole Smith OWNED by 9th Circuit Court of Appeals

LOS ANGELES - A federal appeals court has vacated a lower court's award of $88.5 million to former Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith.

A federal court ruled in March 2002 that Smith was entitled to money from the estate of her oil tycoon husband. J. Howard Marshall the Second died in August 1995 at age 90 just 14 months after he married Smith.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals says this afternoon that the federal court improperly heard the case and that the order of a Texas probate court against Smith should stand.

12 Pack of Ensure for your "husband's" nourishment- $9.00

Having a 90 year old letch gum at your tits and probe you with his bony, liverspotted fingers, then leave you with jack-shit when he dies- Priceless

Sometimes courts render actual justice.

I'm guessing she doesn't have much of it left, anyway. Or do they keep it in trust during appeals?

So did she have the money from the time of his death? If so I am sure she could have earned plenty of interest on it

I don't think she did, they have been fighting over this since his death in 1995, she only as entitled to it after the 88.5 mil award given in 2002.

What was the justification of the original probate court ruling against Smith?

IIRC, there was no mention of her in his will, etc., but she claimed that he verbally agreed to leave her some amount.

without details, this is meaningless. I'd say 'without pics' but then someone would post a pic of Anna Nicole and I'd rather not see that.

I wouldn't worry to much about Miss Smith I'm sure she will find another old man to sleep with.

I'm sure she's got some decent coin in her bank account from her modelling gig years back and even from that disaster reality show.

I'd be lucky to be in her financial situation.

The kind of people who still think it's clever to insert "1"'s into a string of exclamation points on purpose.

But I guess putting "funny faces" at the ends of sentences will always be kewl.

what is she talking about? he wrote a will and put me as the sole beneficiary. unfortunately, there were no witnesses, and the will was burned in a fire

Just for the record, is that describing J. Howard Marshall, or Hugh Hefner?

Going by the description, it could be either one of them...

While it does render a hearty chuckle to see a gold digger get nothing, the fact remains is that he did leave her something and the court rendered his wishes invalid.

This only paves the way for future invalidations of wills. Laugh now. It may not be so funny to you later.
