Off-center $10 bill -- Worth anything?

Found this in my wallet:

The red line is where the plastic strip runs through. The circled area is where the watermark is.

The back is fairly centered but the front is way off. The watermark and strip aren't even close to being in the right place.

The microprinting is all there and the green 10 changes color like it should. It looks and feels real.

So is this something I should hang onto and/or is it worth anything more than $10? Or is it fairly normal?

That's definitely worth at least $10.

Get one of those markers and check to see if it's counterfeit. If it is, turn yourself in.

It's not a misprint, that's how it was designed.

He isn't talking about the way the bill looks, he's talking about the fact that the visible printing isn't lined up on the paper correctly. The embedded polyester thread and the watermark are off center.

I like this one the best. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...949989471&rd=1

You put up a auction for 100,000.00 and don't have the ability to either scan it, or take a digital image of it? Dang.

As others said, I was referring to the fact that the printing was shifted to the top, especially on the front side. THere's virtually no white border. Also, the security strip and water mark are not where they should be.

Makes you wonder who's dumber...the guy who actually expects bids on a vague auction like this, or the person who would actually start the bidding.

Sadly, the bill is pretty beaten up, which will hurt the value A LOT.

Bill collectors like all sorts of weird things though.

Looks like it's worth about 5-10 years in a federal prison.

The seller also has some killer feedback. A nice big zero.

I took the kids through the Denver mint once while on vacation. Evidently "mis-printed" money often is valuable as it happens so rarely. The mint has several quality controls in place to catch mistakes.

However, it is really only worth what someone would pay for it. I would show up at one of those coin collector swap shows they have all time and see what something similar is selling for.
