"He/She is good people" or How to really piss me off

I don't know why this bothers me so freaking much, but it does. I've always been brought up to use proper English, but most instances of language butchering don't usually bother me ("I seen Star Wars" or "I can't get a hold of nobody" being two examples that I would laugh off). But this one drives me insane everytime I hear it, and I can't sit back and let it continue.

Listen to how stupid this sounds:

"Do you know Johnson? He's good people!"

"Sarah? Oh, Sarah. Yeah, she's good people."

So I ask you all, how do I react the next time I hear this?

Kill them!

And I happen to know that Johnson isn't good people. He's bad people.

You know what? I just realized my mistake. Looking back, every instance of me hearing somebody say this involved them describing a person with split personalities. My bad.

Sorry to bother you with this thread. I'm sure nobody would speak in the plural when talking about one single person.

Did you understand what the other person was communicating to you? Yes? Good, then STFU about it. The goal of language, namely communication, was achieved, therefore the language was successful in it's intentions. Beyond that, WTF do you care?

All language that achieves communication is valid language.

I always assume they are using it correctly and will continue on about something they actually couldn't care less about so that I have a frame of reference, but they always disappoint me

Actually, when people I know use improper english, I laugh at them and make them feel small. Of course, if it wasn't for the english, it would be for some other defect they have, so I just take aim at the targets as they come.

Come on, Otto, by your reasoning no one can ever complain about bad grammer as long as the speaker can make him/herself understood.

No, you can complain all you like. I'll just think less of you for doing so.

This thread is going nowheres. Otto's good people and all, but he obviously has a personal bandana against me for some reason. And, frankly, I don't got no time for his games.
