Oh how did I forget, yesterday was a sad 20th anniversary.

on December 26, 1984 I lost my grandmother (on mom's side)

just thought I'd share, this time of year always depresses me, because of this date and also because I lost my other grandmother (on dad's side) January 23rd will mark the 22nd anniversary (January 23, 1983) of her death

someone hold me

This was my first Christmas without both my mom and grandma. Mom died two and a half years ago, and Grandma just passed this February. The only person I now have left of the part of the family I grew up with and spent holidays with is my brother, and he isn't getting along too well with his wife, to the extent that he had to leave not too long after we ate...and where did he go? To his girlfriend's house; the woman he's cheating on his wife with. And he left his wife and 7-month old baby alone for the rest of the day and night...on Christmas.

So, all in all, it was a pretty lonely Christmas. And not that it's really that big a deal, but this is the first Christmas in my entire life where I received absolutely nothing in presents...basically because there's nobody left to give them. I'm not bitter about it or anything...it's just a weird feeling.

Hope everyone else's holiday went well!

Sorry for your (20 year) loss.

My first grandparent died 16 years ago. The other three have since followed.

ok, how? If you think this is a dalvinesque sort of thread well sorry, it's not.

Both have been dead for most of my life.

If you doubt me, well I'm used to being doubted.
