Ok, I gotta say it... SPLENDA is amazing!

For those of us trying to cut Sugar this stuff if great. Granted, it probably causes some kind of bad thing in the long run because it's simply too good to be true.

I just bought a slice of cheesecake made with SPLENDA from "The Cheesecake Factory" and you can barely tell it's "sugar free". It only had 6 carbs per slice. I mean we've come a long way from Saccharin(yuck) to Aspartame( better), and now SPLENDA(best) it's crazy.

Has anyone else tried it?

I agree. When sweetening my tea or coffee, I'll take the yellow packet of Splenda over the blue Equal over the pink Sweet 'N Low every time. Unfortunately, finding it is not that common...yet.

Uhm...YEAH!

They had this stuff at my last job..not sure where someone got it...but it was lemon sweetener. I think it had splenda in it. PERFECT to put in water, tea, etc.

dreyer's sugar free cookie dough ice cream with splenda. it's got half the calories and still tastes great. which is great for those of us who can't stop eating until the entire half gallon is gone.

Plus it gives me explosive diarrhea

And the abdominal cramps

For what ever reason, I have to have extremely limited amounts of this.

Oh man. That sucks. Oh well, I got mine. j/k

A dietitian(sp?) also told me it makes some folks pee a bit more than usual. As far as I can tell I haven't had any probelms with it.

It's all we use .

For those of you that have Costco memberships, they usually have 700 packets for about $13. We always have some in the car in case we go out to eat, for our iced tea.

I buy it in the $7 bulk sacks from Publix. My wife uses it for coffee and baking. It even measures just like sugar!

real sugar

Its great stuff and its nice that it measures just like sugar and you can bake with it.

Making kool-aid with it is fun, or any recipe that you put the splenda in a liquid. It kind of fizzes and foams a little before disolving.

Yeah, it is good stuff. I started it when looking to watch my carb intake. Now I don't focus on that angle, but still use it as avoiding sugar is a good thing.

Splenda is the bomb. I use it in my coffee and on top of oatmeal in combo with some Butter Buds.

I buy it by the box, but may move to the bag now that kool-aid is back in the picture.

That's because much of the flavor comes from tasty trans and saturated fats. Yum. Get rid of that and then tell us how it tastes.

That said, I use Spenda all the time and have for a few years now, especially once they finally started selling the individual packets. It's good stuff.

Probably some sugar alcohols as well.

I made a cheesecake with splenda , no crust, and fat free cream cheeses and it came out very well. Was tasty, though you could tell it wasn't regular cheesecake.

I've been using it for a couple of years now. It's really pretty good... it's sweet without being too sweet or bitter like every other non-caloric sweetener.

It's also used as an ingredient in Diet-Rite sodas. Wal-Mart has them, and they're really pretty good. I wonder if they won't eventually replace Nutrasweert/Aspartame in diet soda with Splenda/Sucralose.

Huh. I was just about to say that it's good that it at least has less nasty side effects than olestra, but I guess for some people that's not true.

That would kick ass, not to mention give our cult the extra oomph it needs to rule the world!

Hate to break it to you guys, but Splenda (sucralose) isn't the magical healthy alternative it's cracked up to be. It's essentially bleached, chlorinated table sugar, the long-term effects of which are murky and scary.

http://creativehealth.netfirms.com/p...a_poison.shtml

There's a perfectly healthy, natural sweetener alternative that you can grow in your back yard. It's called Stevia, but the FDA doesn't really want you to know about it. You can also get it at your local health food store in packets. Check it out.

The anti-sucralose people are still way behind the anti-aspartame people. Don't forget that drinking Diet Coke regularly is slowly embalming your organs.

Hey, months ago, I had also hoped that Splenda would solve all my sweetener needs. But do take a look at Stevia. It's as natural as can be and tastes quite good. Just offering a healthier alternative, folks!

Plus, it's something you can grow in your backyard and have an endless free supply.
