We don't normally get much snow here. We'll probably have lots of rain and wind, tho.

We had some last week, but have had torrential rain since, so no snow left. Earlier today, we had some hail though, which actually broke out some windows in cars.

Take that talk somewhere else. I'll keep the 72 degrees we had today. Which is about 20 degrees above normal. Only downside is that the greass is still growing.

None here either.

It has been about 40 degrees lately though. I get some weird looks, as I'm still running around in T-shirts, while everyone else is bundled up in huge coats, hats, and gloves...

I'm sure we'll have ours soon enough. It's supposed to be in the low-mid 30's for highs later this week, so it's looking promising.

Come on winter!
(yes, i'm one of those crazy people who really does like this season)

I like to visit places with snow...living with it just becomes a pain in the butt. All of the shoveling, the icy roads, the people who don't know how to drive in it....no thanks!

This is what an ice storm did to my bamboo bush.

Ice skating, anyone?

This is very unusual weather for my corner of the world. I'd guess that we won't see another ice storm like this for at least another 5 years or so.

Seems like it was from January of this year. We had a ton of snow, then the ice pellets started to fall. It was nasty and shut the city down for about 3 days.

Thanks to El Nino, we should have a warm and wet winter this year - which is fine with me.

OK, I do my maintenance on my snowblower before I put it away, so I can "gas and go."

Having said that, I don't want to talk about snow. I have planned so I can remain in a state of complete denial, firming believing that global warming has solved the snow problem, and I intend to remain that way until the first storm hits. It's called plausible deniability.

I hate snow.

It serves no useful purpose.

It simply causes problems.

And ... you notice that places traditionally described as "paradise" are lush warm islands far removed from nature's most annoying trait.

Is it too early to start the Portland Snow Storm Thread 2005 thread yet?

My folks in northern Michigan sent me an e-mail a couple of weeks ago with a picture of the inch of snow on their deck.

Don't mention that word. I usually make snow a repressed memory only to be awakened when I see it. So let's not discuss OK?

It's a little early for snow here. Now that I have a mile walk to the subway, winter should be FUN.

I love the first snow of the season. After that, I can do without it.

I'm curious to see what my puppy thinks about snow. I'll bet he'll have a blast playing in it.
