Yup, they're there. Cut trees, all piled up in this lot next to an area grocery store.

Day after Halloween. Is that when it's all gonna start now?
How soon before the stores begin playing Chrismas music?

And also, what's a tree that's already been cut now gonna look like by Christmas?

Okay...that's really pushing it. I thought it was bad enough that many stores had Christmas displays in early October but trees November 1st!???

I'd think that since your americans still have Thanksgiving that there'd be further buffer, but sadly, no.

Me too...

It is way too earlier to even think about Christmas, let alone seeing Christmas-related stuff everywhere.

It's no wonder people like me get sick of the whole Holiday Spirit bullshit when it's shoved in your face for almost two full months.

So am I OK now that I never took down my tree from last year (fake). Is it too soon to start plugging in it now?

Until Thanksgiving starts instituting a present plan, this is only going to get worse. Wal-Mart had Christmas stuff up a week or so before Halloween.

Don't get me wrong; I love Christmas - both religiously and secularly. I just could do without some of the commercialism.

A lot of stores have had their Christmas items out since August. I've seen Christmas trees that have been on display well before Halloween...and my local Walmart has had a robotic dancing Santa greeting people since early October.

If that's not crazy enough, I have a neighbor who has had a Christmas tree and Christmas lights up before most folks got their Halloween decorations up.

Yep. Lowe's had their christmas shit out at least 3 weeks ago. And the Linens and Things had Christmas CD's out, playing randomly near the register 2 weeks ago. I think the poor clerk will be bringing her shotgun to work by Thanksgiving.

I went to the store last night. They didn't have trees yet, but plenty of wreaths.

My apartment complex started putting Christmas lights on the trees about two weeks ago. They usually decorate about 200 trees, so they need to start early.

I went to Meijer yesterday to buy some deeply discounted Halloween candy, but all I could find was full price Christmas candy. Bastards.

I think Costco is the new worst offender of this. The entire Christmas decoration section was put out in the third week of August at mine.

Also, the mall already has it's temporary Christmas store up and open.

The Christmas commercials have already started on TV too.

I don't mind it at all. I like the season.

To me it's not Christmas until I see the Corona Beer commercials with the guy whistling "O Christmas Tree" and the lights in the palm trees. Then I know it's Christmas.
