How many kids are you expecting to trick or treat at your house?

I've always wondered how many kids big city folks get. It's 5:45 and I have had 2 only at this time but I Was expecting something like 150 ... guess times have changed.

Oh well, more candy for me, I already took all the best ones for myself

Didn't get one last year, won't get one this year (haven't yet)
Before I moved here we'd get 50-75 a Halloween.

Eh.. probably three groups of kids, two or three per group.

I like when kids trick-or-treat in groups. Then you can play favorites and give more candy to the one with the best costume, while making the rest of them feel bad for their costumes.
"Well, you understand the concept of Halloween, kid. Here's a handful. The rest of you - You could learn from your friend over here. You only get one piece."

Ahh... I love halloween.

Geez, expecting 150? I had maybe a dozen total, and I'd be surprised if there were more than fifteen. Maybe my neighborhood shifting Halloween to Saturday had something to do with it, but hardly anyone came by last year either.

Two houses very close to me on either side go all out and make incredible front yard designs. It was great for awhile cause it is really neat and cool and just about everyone in our neighborhood is very nice with polite, well raised kids.

But our gift is also our curse. The word got out and now the "car" people come in droves. Tons and tons of rude ass kids AND adults. Horrible. I hate seeing the crap kids running and pushing their way to the front while the nice, adorable kids are waiting patiently always with a smile and a thank you. So the last two years we have started to use two bowles if ya know what I mean and try to dish them out accordingly.

Not to go too off-topic, but I was also thinking of this sight the other day. I still crack up whenever I think of the phrase, "Has vegetable salty!"

I'm not expecting too many, probably none. But I hope at least a few show up so I don't have to eat all the candy myself. It's 4:20 PM and noboby showed

Yeah Verbal, that sucks bad, good things I dont decorate. When I was young, my best friends mom bought the small boxes of chips (12-20, I forget how many in a box) and the stack was taller than she was, must have had close to 200 kids.

Times are changing though, less and less kids pass. I expected 150 cause I live in a mobile home park (not a trailer damn you!) and there are 800 houses here.

None (although given it's now Monday over here, it's fairly easy to predict the immediate past).

While a few people I know do celebrate halloween, it's more about the 'meaning' of the holiday itself, rather than the 'commercial' aspect associated with the candy companies (trick or treating). I think in the last 10 years we've had probably a maximum of about 1/2 dozen kids come around looking for candy.

i've got zero in my hood. my mum said she had about 90. she only made 60 bags of candy, so she was scrambling to find other stuff the throw at the little bastards. luckily my parents have more candy than anyone in their right mind should have in their house at any given time.

I am in a pretty populated area, but I may only get about 20-30 this year, have had about 12 so far...

and I have decided I am giving less to the idiot kids (mainly 11-12 year boys) who show up , not dressed up in costume and do not say trick or treat, and conversely give more to those who do, I dont ask for much... my mother taught us proper etiquette at halloween, not just show up with your bag open, not even thanking us for the treat

I will enjoy the leftovers from the giant bag of MM family of candy fun size bars my wife and I picked up from Sam's yesterday... not that I want TOOO much leftover

Our neighborhood does the lights-on thing, we had ours on.
We had maybe 30.. One bag of candy, 1-4 pieces per person depending on age, costume, and attitude, and have a few pieces left. We even put a bowl out while we took my boy out [his first time] and when we got back, we had candy left.

lewisb73: Absolutely. Costume, 'Trick or Treat' [we had a few 'Happy Halloween's as well, which I'll accept], and Thank you. My boy was shy, but we said Thank you for him [and it's different when you're 2.]

Halloween is not the same as it used to be, at least in my neighbourhood.
