I know some were gonna do tricks-or-treats tonight since they don't think Halloween and Sunday should mix.

I just didn't answer.

For the record, the little _____ didn't say trick or treat, though they did ring the doorbell 5 or 6 times, then pounded on the door for a while....

I probably won't answer, but if I do, I'll tell them I don't have candy. Which is true.

I, on the other hand, have a lot of candy. I plan to open the door for every brat that comes up - then as I am eating the candy I will give them shit for being a day early. Mwahahah. Then if I'm feeling nice, I'll throw the candy on the ground and make them work for it.
Hey, you have to teach kids that you don't get somethin' for nothin'.

I leave my light off every year and the bastards still show up.

My advice: throw it on the floor and as they bend down to pick it up, kick them in the head. As they lay there crying, throw hydrocholoric acid on them. Do that to just a few kids and I guarantee they'll stop showing up.

Does a .45 automatic count?

What I did do though was I took in our pumpkin from the front steps and moved my wife's Miata off the street into the driveway. Cause I'm more worried about mischief night or whatever they call it by you.

I'd start a thread about what they call the night before Halloween in your area but I believe we have done that once or twice already.

Heavy fog outside here now, making it a creeeeepy night.

Beggar's night does not equal Halloween. It falls on the same night sometimes, but many times it doesn't...

WTF. Wondering why the hate, it's not the kids fault for when it happens, you guys didn't have a childhood?

That's what my parents always called the "trick-or-treat" night, and I've always heard that growing up.

Looking at it, it's not a PC name for all, but it does fit some. (yes, i mispelled begger)

Probably a "where you are from thing", but the candy night usually seemed to fall on a "school friendly" night around here.

Halloween is the 31st. It has always been the 31st. When I was a kid I NEVER trick or treated until the night of the 31st.

Fuckers.

I'm not opening my door a day early just because some churchie wants to have their kids go around the neighborhood on devil's night instead of halloween.

Fuck 'em. They can celebrate halloween when everyone else does, and not when they THINK it should be celebrated.

Halloween, All Hallow's Eve, or Beggars' Night is all the same. Just PC folks making the religious people feel better about celebrating what we call halloween.

EDIT: Boy i'm really slow posting

If it's too evil to do on a Sunday, isn't it too evil to do at all.
While I don't share their beliefs, their logic completely eludes me.

But what about the Jewish Pagans?

I have NEVER heard of this "begger/beggar's night" before tonight. It was ALWAYS a Halloween thing, which is tomorrow.
