i'm aware they're pretty common, its just the first time i've received one...

and thanks...

i appreciate the demeaning attitude.

a simple "yeah these are pretty common" would have been fine, the "FYI" is a bit much...

It is kinda funny, almost all the spoof emails have one thing in common... VERY POOR SPELLING OR GRAMMAR. I have gotten things like "checks your account for unauthorizeds access" and all sorts of other crazy crap.

Sad thing is, that 15-20% of people who get these emails think they are real and reply! Just think of all the people who believe that "forward this to 9 of your friends and you get a free Applebees $50 gift card" is a real thing...

I've been getting these for yahoo email for a few weeks now. The funny thing is that they're sent to me BY me. Gotta love that spoofing.

BTW, nice "fucking" comments guys. The fun is back.

On a somewhat related topic...

Did anyone else get an email from PayPal recently saying something about refunding transaction fees due to the recent problems they had with their system? It didn't ask me to verify any information and it was written in pretty good English. I recently bought something on eBay, so I'm guessing it's legit. I kept the email for the hell of it, but it's saved at home and I'm at work, so I don't have the exact text in front of me. It's only $2.50, so it's not like someone in Nigeria is asking me to hold on to $10 million for them.

Yes, the PayPal thing is legit. My Account Rep said they are doing it for sellers for all fees on Oct 28th I think.

I actually got one of these emails and logged into the system using their link. In about 3.5 seconds after inputing my info I was like, "oh fuck" and realized what it was. I changed my password right after that. I feel so ashamed...
