What would you choose?

Imagine the one single thing in this life that you absolutely love doing - can be anything as long as its your greatest passion, and you cant bear not to ever get to do it again.....

now - you come across some rich, eccentric bastard with an evil sense of humor and he makes you the following offer:

You will receive 1 Million dollars cash , Free and clear, no loopholes, right now (here's the suitcase full of money) - BUT.....you can never ever again, for the rest of your life, ever partake of your one great pleasure in life that you have - AND - you cannot use any of the money you receive in, or towards ANY activity even remotely related to it whasoever (If you loved playing baseball, you cant buy season tickets to just watch it - you also cannot live your pleasure vicariously by nudging your children, family or friends in that direction). You cant even discuss it - it is lost ot you in every shape way and form, forever.

what would you choose?

Id take the million because I could use it to finance a bunch of other stuff that I would love to do, but didnt have the money to do it

Stupid question. If it is indeed your greatest passion, you couldn't possibly give it up, else it wouldn't be your greatest passion.

I'd lie and say that knitting is my greatest passion. Then I'd take the money and never knit again.

true but there is difference between never getting to do it again, and possibly finding a new one by getting to do something that you've wanted to do but you could never afford before....like for instance, I love cooking, just love it - Id also like to fly planes, but I cant afford it so I dont think about it much - guess what my new hobby would be.....and my wife could always learn to cook

There's also a difference between something you "love to do" and your "greatest passion." If it's your greatest passion, you couldn't give it up for money; otherwise, your greatest passion would be the accumulation or spending of money directly or indirectly, in which case you wouldn't be giving up your greatest passion.

I'm just sayin'.

Greatest enjoyment/passion (barring that it's not money - and it should never be) .... never...not for 10 million...you couldn't buy it.

The better question is if you could have your greatest enjoyment/passion (not having anything to do with $) BUT you would never have any money ( you know poor-broke-welfare) .... would you give it up?

What if you haven't figured out your "greatest" passion yet? There are several things I really enjoy, but I wouldn't call any my greatest passion. Although, give me a couple minutes in "mature forum" and I think I could find a couple.
