Anyone own a compound bow?

I went hunting with some friends this weekend and had a blast target shooting my friends bow.

Now I am hooked and started shopping today. Wondered if anyone around here is into this? kvrdave?

You are close to becoming Ted Nugent.

Me?

I don't actually have one, but use my brother-in-laws. A lot of people around here bow hunt, and I have a hard time getting excited about hunting when they have meat at the store that is already cut up.

I tend to think that the compound bow is probably the most significant change/improvement in weaponry in the past 50 years...other than daisy cutters, and such.

I used to have one but got rid of it some time ago. I love to shoot arrows but I kinda suck at it.

Compound bows are fun to use, but more to f' around with.

Personally, I don't like hunting, but I understand why people do it (in moderation). I know in NJ there is STILL an over-population of deer who will starve to death if they didn't have the extended hunting seasons.

Personally, I couldn't kill an animal without a good reason.

Maybe I should go hug a tree now or something...i'm feeling crunchy.

The only thing I ever came close to hitting was a passing Winnebago (sp?).

That Ted shot is with a recurve which is alot harder.

I am not into killing either but the hinking around in the mountians all sneaky is way fun

The bow is more for play for sure - kind of a camping toy, like guns for a lot of people.

I have a compound bow. I don't do hunting, but love to shoot targets with it. I have been doing it for a while now, maybe about 15 years. Just wish that after that many years I was awesome at it.
