Tobacco is the devil!!!

My wife and I have mysteriously gained weight recently. I have put on 12 pounds in the past month, she has put on 6. I am back within 10 pounds of my high after having kids (about what the Otters saw me at at the Vegas Meet )

So anyway, I thought back to the glory days of when I was a smokeless tobacco adict because it seemed to control appetite. So, a buddy of mine just gave me bit. I am having one right now, and I am dizzy. I want to throw up. Man, it takes a lot of work to get addicted. I will probably spit it out and never look back. I think I'm getting a headache too.

There was an article in the Oregonian yesterday that indicates that perhaps smokeless tobacco can save your life. They were interviewing an Oregon National Guardsman serving in Iraq, talking about how crazy you have to drive over there to be safe. The soldier said he was driving a humvee and turned his head to spit some dip out the window, when he saw an RPG coming toward him. He slammed on the brakes, and the rocket skipped off the hood of the humvee and exploded into a building next to him. He said he "made smoke" and hauled ass out of there.

I haven't had a cigarette since my Vegas trip ended 3 weeks ago. Plan to take a 3-month break to New Year's. I definitely noticed that I am hungrier than I used to be.

Nasty stuff. My younger brother accidently swallowed some of that junk years ago and ended up in the hospital for a couple days.

I quit long ago as well. I was tempted to start up again recently, though. Probably from hanging out in casinos at holdem tournies too often.

I tried this once in college while on the golf course and had pretty much the same reaction, only I actually left it and my lunch near the number 5 green. I understand that this is a pretty common reaction the first time, so it begs the question, what on earth would posses someone to go through this to get started on this kind of habit?

I thought that this thread was called "Taco Bell is the Devil!" when I opened it up. It wasn't.

But on an unrelated note, Taco Bell is the devil, I've been back from lunch for about 2 hours and I've already shat 3 times. No more Taco Bell, ever!!

I used to use chew, and everytime I attempted to dip snuff I got dizzy and usually sick, but I could swallow chew and not have a problem - weird.

You will probably also lose weight by quitting marijuana.

You have to work at it. I think I did it because the hick boys were doing it and I wanted to be a rebel and fit in (figure that out). I actually didn't think I would react that way, simply because I had done it for so long, back in the day. It is nice to know that I would have to work hard to become addicted again.

Was it a dip or a chew? Not that I do either anymore, but I always preferred Levi Garrett/Redman to Skoal/Cope/Kodiak.

You could always go on that reality TV show called "Cold Turkey" Where they dupe people into thinking they're going on some TV show, the whole goal of the show is to get them to quit smoking and they quarantine them off in this house with no smokes.

Poor bastards
