Sprint - switching phones on family plan

Wife decides she likes my phone better and wants to switch. Is it possible and how easy is it? When we got the phone and asked the sales assistant she was clueless.

So you want to trade phones then? I'd imagine it would be simple. It would be just like activating a new phone. I've been through 4 different phones on my Sprint family plan, and I've never had a problem.

If you have 2 phones on your account and you want to switch phones numbers between phones, you can do it. But, there has to be a third handset in the equation. Each MDN (number) has to consistently have a ESN number attached to it. So, if you guys have an old phone that used to be on your account, then you can do it fairly quickly. I work for Sprint and do this alot for customers.

Yes, you can switch her phone easy. Just purchase the phone she wants, call up Sprint and tell them she wants to use the new phone. They will activate her new phone with her number and deactivate the old phone.

Iíve been through 4 phones this year.

We already have the phones. We both have new phones, i got the Samsung flip, she got a Nokia, but prefers mine because of the bigger screen. Problem now it seems is that we don't have a third phone as Sprint took her old one when we got a new phone for the wife.

Without a third phone it can't be done.

Do you guys have a friend or family member that has an old Sprint phone that is no longer in use? You can even use one off an old account that is closed, as long as the balance has been paid up on it.

Maybe i'll go and ask ay my local sprint store to borrow one of the trade ins - they made us give ours in when we upgraded.

Thanks everyone for your help, much appreciated.
