What do you take umbrage with?

I was flipping channels and saw a quick minute of a political show. One guy was pissed at another guy and said, "I take umbrage with that statement!"

I didn't hear what he was taking umbrage with since I'd just turned on the channel and I didn't stick around to find out.

No siree. I did the sensible thing. Turned off the TV and came over to the computer to start this thread.

Let us all be enlightened!

I'll get this response out of the way:

I take umbrage with this thread!

I take umbrage with the word "umbrage." It sounds like something to do with umbrella rage, and that frightens me.

Good point. I was in such an umbraged state that I failed to start a thread called With what do you take umbrage?

Sadly this may live as my greatest failure.

Yes I did. But I prefer to call it an homage.
Still, it's a great comment.

The was for the comment. The was for the source. I take umbrage with your assumption.

In rare cases, an erection may last for over 4 hours after taking umbrage.
