My wife just hinted that she wants a Boston Terrier/Chihuahua puppy.

Our neighbor has these large rats that apparently are actually dogs. My wife dropped the hint that she would like one. I told her "I don't even know who you are anymore!" I also told her that they offered one to me as well and I laughed. Then I laughed some more.

What the hell is she thinking? We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 horses, 2 boys, and a mess of wild life. Why in the world would we want some yappy piece of crap running around the house?

I think I want a divorce

Any women here want to take care of me, and do the dishes, and make dinner, and clean the house, and keep a full time job, and let me play poker a lot? And you have to be hot. Anyone?

What the hell is she thinking?

They're great for baiting coyote traps.

This is a constant discussion I have with my wife. The only dogs she likes are rats like that or what I commonly call "Drop-kick dogs".

Yeah, I would suggest that's fine but the dog must wear a football costume and you and your kids have every right to go for the extra point.

This looks like the dog my mom has.

Shi Tzu, I think. Seems like the older women get, the smaller they prefer their dogs?

Edit: Oh don't worry, my parents have a black lab, so it's all good.

These do not count. At all. Shihtzu's were used in China as guard dogs. Yes in groups. I knew one and he was one of the best creatures I ever met. They are built like little trucks. Hell of a grip. They ARE NOT toy dogs.

-kvrdave you might find this kind of dog will placate your woman and I know you will like him.

Get one of these.

Tell her it is an Acapulcan Terrier. Tell her it is almost fullsized already. As it keeps growing just keep up a steady stream of "I can't believe the size of the little guy" and "This could be the biggest one on record" for the first year. By the time you have to own up she will love him.

Rottweillers tend to grow on people.

Um, yes.

What do you mean"Um, no?"

I'm not trying to say they are bulldogs, but they are very similar, but much smaller. The one I knew was amazing as you looked at him and never suspected there was a real dog under there at first. Taking a closer look and I started seeing the real build of the animal. But some people really foofoo up the dog.

I don't know what kind of dog you saw, but the shihtzu my mom has is barely 15 pounds, hardly has any hard muscles, has one of the most smallest set of teeth I've seen. It's basically defenseless. Only thing it's good for is cuddling.

I imagine within the breed there is quite the variety. And being poofed for years cannot have helped the cause. There are probably alot of them now that look solely like feeder dogs. Heck look at the difference between the 2 dog pics above.

And by guard dogs I do not mean hundreds of them at once.

We had standard short haired daschunds when I was a kid....they were cool dogs.

I can see how 4 minitures could be annoying.

I like medium sized dogs like standard daschunds and beagles. .
